Going Deeper - Ephesiansنموونە

Mystery is a word that every follower of Jesus needs to get used to. There is an element of mystery to the one true and living God. We don’t know everything about Him, we won’t always understand His ways, and we certainly can’t predict what He’s up to. Mystery shouldn’t give way to doubt, fear or negligence but to awe, wonder and anticipation because His word says that “He is good and He does good.” (Psalm 119:68)
Paul has a divine revelation of one of the many mysteries surrounding Jesus. It is revealed to him that Jesus would unite Jews and Gentiles by His death and resurrection. He, as a servant of Jesus, took the gospel to the Gentiles in order that the purposes of God for his life would be fulfilled.
The larger purpose for the body of Christ, Jews and Gentiles together, is that we display the manifold wisdom of God to the spiritual realm thereby spreading abroad the name and fame of Christ.
Paul ends this chapter with a prayer for the believers in the Ephesian church.
This prayer expresses four desires, namely that they would:
1. Be empowered by the Holy Spirit
2. Put all their trust in Christ
3. Experience the great depths of God’s love for them
4. Live lives that glorified God
Will you pray the prayer that Paul prayed in verses 16-21 over yourself in faith?
