C.S. Lewis' One Rule for Giving & Generosityنموونە

“I am afraid the only safe rule is to give more than we can spare. If our giving habits do not at all pinch or hamper us, I should say they are too small. There ought to be things we want to do but cannot do because our giving expenditures exclude them.” –C.S. Lewis

Sacrificial giving is almost always an act of faith. To give in a way that it forces you to be dependent on God’s promises to provide for you is a bold step of faith. But, as we can deduce from Hebrews 11:6, our faith is pleasing to God!

Taking a holistic look at the Bible, God doesn’t seem to call most people to give everything away. But, as C.S. said, we are at our best when we are leaning in the direction of giving more than is comfortable. And as we do, we will certainly discover the freedom and blessing that comes from giving that Jesus refers to in Acts 20:35.

So, the question for you today friend is this: what simple thing can you do today to stretch in your generosity today?
