God Listens When We Have Big Feelings
(It would be beneficial to read the Scriptures before beginning each day.)
We all have stuff that really gets under our skin, whether it’s sounds like nails on a chalkboard or certain friends that might say something that bothers us. Today as we check in on our story in Job, Job is really struggling in the testing of his faith. He has had loads of unfortunate and terrible things happen to him and we see him start to lose patience. He wants answers to why he is struggling the way he is even though he hasn’t seemed to do anything wrong, so he voices his frustrations towards God. We might feel this way sometimes too and might feel like we have to bottle everything up, but our relationship with God is an authentic one where there are healthy ways to express our emotions to God!
Have you ever been really upset before? How did you respond?
Is it okay to be confused by or upset with God? Why?
How can we talk to God about our problems?

I love Rube Goldberg machines. They are elaborate, complicated systems that accomplish simple tasks. Usually they are many small things that work toward one bigger goal, but sometimes they can be a few big things that do something small.
