Other students in your grade may have organized themselves into groups at school. Maybe a more artistic group or a group that gets all the good grades. It's not like you register for these groups and your classes before the start of a semester, but it's easy to see that some people love to work hard and others don't. Some people work too much on group projects and others not enough. So which one is right?
Proverbs 21 gives us a good standard for how we should work. It tells us to use wisdom and to trust God. This can be a hard balance! The Bible doesn't say work like it's all on you; it doesn't say live like there's no tomorrow because God will fix it all for you. The imagery of horses ready for battle and trusting the victory with God is a good image to apply in our lives. When we work hard and trust that God will allow what's meant to happen, we can be an example of diligence and peace.
Do you lean more toward being an over-achiever or laid back to a fault? How can you find a balance between the two this week?
