Bare Tree and Little Wind: A 5-Day Kids Reading Plan for Holy Weekنموونە

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8
Today, Bare Tree tells Little Wind about Good Friday.
“But how will God make things right and good again?” Little Wind asks.
“He sent Real King,” Bare Tree says.
“You mean that Quiet Man who came riding in on the donkey?” Little Wind asks. “I was there. I saw what they did to him. Why is it called ‘Good Friday?’ He was so, so good, gentle and kind, but they killed him on a cross! It was terrible.”
“He died to take the punishment for the bad things other people did,” Bare Tree explains. “Now they could be forgiven! They could come close to God again, just like Adam and Eve in God’s beautiful garden!”
“Oh,” says Little Wind. “That’s why it’s good.”
Question
When someone breaks a law like “don’t steal,” what happens to them? When you disobey a rule at home, what happens to you?
Prayer
Dear God, You are so good. You made things right in this world by sending the Real King, Jesus Christ, to be our rescuer. Thank You for Your Son’s sacrifice on the cross for us. We love you, God. Amen.

I wish there was no crying over sad things or being scared of bad things in our lives. Don’t you? That’s what Easter is about—God making things right and good, so we don’t have any more tears or fear! This Holy Week, our friends, Bare Tree and Little Wind, talk about God fixing our mess by putting Good Friday and Easter Sunday in the middle of His plan.
