You wonder how the story of Jonah might have played out if Jonah had the Word of God not only tattooed on his heart (we see this as he is quoting the Psalms in his prayer) but was also walking in it and living out his faith.

It’s time to prepare for our Jonah moment; it will inevitably come. The moment we are asked to share our faith with a coworker, friend, or family member. To maybe move across the country or across the world. To stand before the Creator of the universe and give an account. So let’s get ready.

As you are reading your Bible, ask yourself these questions: What is the hardest part about reading the Bible for you? What do you enjoy most about reading the Bible? What excuses do you make for not reading your Bible? How much time should you spend reading every day? What does that say about the importance of God’s Word?

• Does the Bible have the last say in your life? Is it authoritative?
• What do you do with parts of the Bible that are hard to believe? Like a whale swallowing a man?
