The Road Less Traveled - a Lent Journey for Teensنموونە

Pray
Do you remember that you were invited to find a place of prayer earlier this week where you can pray each day? Today, we will look at different ways you can use to pray.
On this Lent journey, we will practice two types of prayer.
The first is a daily reflective prayer in the evening before you go to bed. With this type of prayer, you think back on your day, like a replay of every event during the day – almost like a movie. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you as you replay your day. Choose one or two events that stood out in your day and speak to God about them. They may be positive or negative.
The second type of prayer is a repetition prayer. This is a prayer you can repeat during the day, as and when you remember. It’s a short prayer that helps you remember God is with you. Wherever you are, you can pray a repetition prayer during your day.
Exercise:
Let’s practice a repetition prayer today. Today’s repetition prayer is “Lord, help me choose Your life today.” As you remember today, repeat this prayer at any time.
Tonight, just before bed, do a reflective prayer about your day.

Lent is where we walk with Jesus for 40 days. We are going to look at the Beatitudes of Jesus. These are sayings from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. We live in a world filled with uncertainty, fear and anxiety. The beatitudes invite us to live in a new way in this world of ours. Together, we are going to explore new ways to live life.
