Strength in Waiting
If you are anything like the average person, you are not a fan of waiting around for something to happen. And that's okay. Waiting is not everyone's strong suit. However, waiting is a strength builder. Waiting is a breeding ground for stronger faith to be cultivated.
The focus scripture for today's entry makes it very clear that, when you hope in the Lord, it's worth it in the end. To say it more plainly, God is always worth the wait. You will never get to the end of a waiting period and feel as though you've wasted your time. Instead, you will have much to show for it.
The thing to bear in mind when you are waiting with hopeful anticipation is, that there are benefits for doing so.
Faith rises when you wait.
You ascend (mount up) to heights where fear cannot reach you.
Your strength is renewed.
Your personhood is developed.
The next time you find yourself in a waiting period, be cheerful about it. Don't despise it. Waiting ultimately means that you are in the perfect position to become better and to know God better.
Father, thank You for the strength found in waiting. Thank You for the treasure of discovery that allows me to know You, and myself, better.
