Embracing the Peace of God

Jesus Christ expressly promised us peace. But looking around us today, the world is filled with bad news and events, diseases, unemployment, terrorism, and many woes. 

The good news is, the peace Jesus gives doesn’t depend on the state of the world. Even in the midst of war, we can be at peace, free from worry and fear, content in every physical situation and circumstance. This is the peace Jesus gives.

God’s peace is always available to His children no matter what is going on in the world around us. All we have to do is reach out and receive it by:

• Praying about everything and practicing gratitude - Philippians 4:6

• Guarding our thoughts - Philippians 4:8

• Relying on God’s strength - Philippians 4:12-13

Prayer: Dear God, help me to fix my thoughts on You and everything good. Help me not to be anxious for anything. Give me your peace that transcends all understanding. Amen.
