Abiding With God in the Heartache and the Joyنموونە

The Lord is good  

There is great security in the simple but profound truth, that the Lord is good, all the time! When we are in trouble, may we learn to always run to our Heavenly Father for refuge.

In the full counsel of God, we know that he cares for us even when we don’t trust him. Yet, he is particularly responsive to our trust and faith in him.

Through all of our difficulties, may we return to the basic underlying fact that God is kind, safe, and caring. How wonderful is that!

We also know that his forbearance will end and that his judgments will come more fully on the earth. We pray that people and nations will respond to his loving-kindness and be spared, if it were possible, his righteous judgment.

We also claim the New Testament promise of grace through the Lord Jesus Christ, who came, was crucified and rose again so that we could be spared judgment through loving sacrifice.

Prayer

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your gift of grace. For dying on the cross for me. For the peace and rest, I find in you because you have promised me a place of refuge whenever I am in need.
