‘Yes, my soul, find rest in God…’
Like everyone else, I started the year with a great deal of expectation. But as the first quarter swung to a close, the world was plunged into unexpected chaos in the form of a pandemic.
Hope was a forgotten dream, and at Christmas, a time that is traditionally reserved for family gatherings and fellowships and exchange of gifts, this year feels different. The air feels inflated with a sense of fervent hopelessness. With uncertainty and fear. And instead of joy, many are grappling with loss and despair.
But in times like this – and especially at times like this – it is important to remember the hope we have in Jesus. This hope is the miracle of love, which gives us something to look forward to with joyous anticipation. Something that transcends the days and times and seasons. It is that which remains true and unchanging and unaffected by what is going on around us.
And so, this Christmas we are encouraged to remember and to rekindle our hope in Christ, who is the reason for the season, and to rejoice and find rest and assurance in this comfort.

Join us on this Advent journey, where you will encounter scriptures, poems and stories of hope. A hope that was first signaled by a star that called wise men to a stable around 2,000 years ago. A hope heralded by angels to shepherds in a field. A hope that sings to our hearts and builds our courage.
