In But Not Of: Here, But Not Home—Part 1نموونە
Reveal God
Everyone has a broken idea of who God really is and sin distorts our understanding. We question His love, His power, and His justice. Jesus came to make it clear who God truly is. It’s as though Jesus came to take each of our individual, broken ideas about God and put them all together to make one clear picture. Jesus came to reveal the Father to those of us who didn’t really understand who He was.
While we are here, but not home, we still have a purpose. We are to know and glorify God, and as we do those two things, it should cause us to want to reveal God to those around us just like Jesus did. John 17:6 NLT says, “I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world…” God specifically placed people in Jesus’ life so that He could help them understand who God really is.
As we wait for our heavenly home, we have everyday opportunities to point people to a clearer image of who God is. It starts with knowing God, because if you never know Him deeply, you can’t reveal who He truly is to the people around you. God has placed people in your life today for you to reveal Him to. They might be in your home, in your classroom, in your neighborhood, or on your team, but they aren’t there by accident. Jesus came to reveal God to you. Get to know Jesus so that you can take this same purpose as you live out the reality of here, but not home.
Who is someone in your life who you can reveal God to this week?

About this Plan
As believers, we live in the tension of the hope that is coming and the reality of the present. This tension is summed up in the longest recorded prayer of Jesus in John 17 as He prays to God over His disciples and all believers to live in this tension in such a way that brings glory, honor, and understanding to His name.
