1Q: Following Jesus for Realنموونە

In today’s story, Jesus asks His disciples who people say He is. They tell Him. Then He asks who they say He is. Peter confesses that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the Living God. This wasn’t something Peter simply overheard and passed along. He was convinced. As a result of this confession born of conviction (or being absolutely convinced), Peter would later receive the Holy Spirit as confirmation of his salvation from the consequences of sin through faith.
Who do you say Jesus is? Have you put your faith in Him for salvation? If so, you have the Holy Spirit to thank. Others may have told you the truth about Jesus, but He convinced you, and God gave you the faith to believe and receive the truth.
Thank God for giving you the faith to believe in Jesus, His Son, so you could have eternal life like Peter.
