Meeting Jesus in the Book of Mark

The Gospel of Mark wastes no time. It opens mid-action, moves without pause, and ends without resolution — leaving the reader in the same silence as the women who fled from the empty tomb. Of the four Gospels, Mark is the most urgent and the most honest about what following Jesus costs. Over seven days, this plan traces that urgency: who Jesus is, what genuine authority looks like, what the cross demands, why failure is not the final word, and what the open ending is still asking of every reader who arrives at it.

The Misunderstandings of Easter

This devotional considers the cry of the father in Mark 9:24, “I believe; help my unbelief,” as a window into the often-overlooked spiritual struggles of Christian fatherhood. This six-day study will examine how faith can weaken under pressure and how that weakening often surfaces in passivity, carelessness, inconsistency, and a failure to shepherd our sons and daughters with discernment. Its aim is not to condemn struggling fathers, but to call them to honest self-examination, repentance, renewed dependence upon Christ, and more faithful spiritual leadership in the home.
