He Shall Reign is a two week Advent study from New Life Church of Arkansas. Throughout this plan, we look at the anticipation of Christ's birth and how He came to establish His kingdom on earth. Our prayer is that this study would remind you of the unshakable reign of our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.

In the Gospel of Luke, we find a unique account of Jesus’ life. Luke shows us how much Jesus sees, knows, and cares for His people. He continually goes out of His way to help those in need and to seek the lost. This Gospel also shows us what it truly means to follow Jesus and what it may cost us when we do.

Our kind of Christmas isn’t working. The status quo of our holiday season pushes us into busyness, distraction, and exhaustion instead of the rest and relief that Jesus came to bring. This Plan redirects us to God’s kind of Christmas, where we slow down, catch our breath, read everything the gospels say about the birth of Jesus, and remember everything that is ours through faith in our Prince of peace.

Christmas is a story of coming and going. Everyone is heading somewhere. We are drawn to Bethlehem, to see a baby who came to save the world. But, as we rejoice at our Savior’s birth, we can’t help but go out into the world, changed, telling others of the good news.
