At the end of His ministry on earth, Jesus spoke to His disciples plainly regarding His mission given to Him by God the Father. He spoke to them of the relationship God intended to have with all those who love Him. He prayed a powerful prayer to the Father, not only for His disciples at that time, but for us as well!
In John 17:20-24, Jesus prayed that believers would be unified as one, in the same way that He was unified with God the Father in the Trinity. He prayed that one day we would be with Him to see Him as He truly is. What a wonderful and empowering truth, that God desires us to be unified in His love and near Himself.
