Shifts: When God Disrupts Your Plans to Fulfill His Purpose (7-Day Bible Plan)নমুনা

Uncomfortable but Necessary
Not every shift will feel good. Some of them will shake you, stretch you, and confuse you. There are moments when God’s movement in your life feels uncomfortable—like He’s stripping away everything familiar just when you were finally getting settled.
I’ve learned that sometimes what feels like discomfort is really divine construction. God is rebuilding things that were once hidden or broken. When you’re in the middle of that process, it rarely makes sense. You pray, you fast, you do everything right, but it still feels like nothing is moving. The truth is, it is moving—you just can’t see it yet.
And then there are the moments when God tells you to move, and everything in you doesn’t want to. You start to wonder, “Is this God, or is it just my emotions?” You question, you delay, you try to reason your way through it. Deep down, though, something in your spirit knows—it’s God. But even when your soul recognizes His voice, your flesh still wrestles with doubt. Because moving means leaving. Leaving comfort. Leaving control. Leaving what’s familiar for what’s uncertain.
In John 13, Peter wrestled with that same discomfort. When Jesus knelt to wash his feet, Peter couldn’t understand what was happening. It didn’t make sense to his mind, but it was necessary for his maturity. Jesus told him, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
That’s what God says to us in seasons of transition. You may not understand it now, but later you will. The uncomfortable parts of your journey are often where God does His most important work.
When God shifts you, it’s not to punish you—it’s to prepare you. The same God who told you to move will meet you in the movement.
Reflection Question: Is there an area of your life where God is prompting you to move, even though you’re unsure or afraid?
Prayer: Lord, help me to trust Your voice even when I don’t understand it. When doubt whispers louder than faith, remind me that obedience is better than comfort. Give me courage to move when You say move, knowing You’re already waiting on the other side. Amen.

About this Plan

Life doesn’t always go as planned. Sometimes God tells you to move when you least expect it—or makes you move when you refuse to. It’s uncomfortable, uncertain, and often confusing, but every divine disruption has a purpose. In this seven-day devotional, Minister Jayden Watkins shares how to recognize God’s voice in transition, trust His timing when the path is unclear, and find peace in the shift. Through honest reflection, powerful Scripture, and prayer, you’ll see that God doesn’t move you to break you, but to build you. When He shifts your life, He’s preparing you for greater purpose.
