Better Resurrection II
We saw in our previous study that the power of God does not only work out deliverance; it also works out a better resurrection in us. Now, a better resurrection requires an extra dose of patience and longsuffering.
Paul said something instructive in the above text. God’s glorious power doesn’t only bring intervention in unpleasant circumstances; sometimes His power simply fills you with the patience and endurance you need for a better resurrection.
Longsuffering is almost like a curse word in the minds of many believers today. But longsuffering is one of God’s attributes (Exodus 34:6, Numbers 14:18, Psalm 86:15, Joel 2:13, Romans 2:4, 1 Timothy 1:16, 2 Peter 3:9, 2 Peter 3:15). We are now partakers of God’s nature at the new birth. It is the fruit of our born-again spirit. If you will have a better resurrection, you must exercise yourself in patience and longsuffering.
Not every intervention of God’s power is meant to bring immediate relief. God’s Word says His glorious power strengthens us with might and spiritual resilience to go through the process that ends in a better resurrection.
Sound Code:
Father, strengthen me with all might by Your Spirit. Help me endure the process that leads to better resurrection. Amen
