Day 7: Leading to Stand Out:
Congratulations—you’ve made it to the final day of the RESTORE journey! As we close, we reflect on one of the most lasting marks of a good leader—uniqueness.
In every field, there are leaders who blend in and those who stand out. The difference is not talent or timing but intentionality. Leaders who rise above the noise choose, day after day, to live and lead on purpose. Matthew 10:30-31 reminds us that God crafted us with care: “Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered . . . you are worth more than many sparrows.” Your uniqueness is no accident—it is part of your assignment.
Standing out begins with knowing your uniqueness. Often, childhood traits give us clues. Were you creative, organized, or a natural gatherer of friends? Those glimpses point to strengths still alive in you today. Caleb shows us the power of a “different spirit.” Numbers 14:24 says, “Because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land.” While others saw giants, Caleb trusted God’s promise.
Psalm 25:4-5 reminds us that leadership begins with self-leadership: “Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.” Leaders who stand out seek God’s direction and set their lives in order before guiding others. They also sharpen their focus—saying no to distractions so they can give their best where it matters most.
Finally, true distinction comes from a mindset of stewardship. Many stop once they’ve reached the “top 10 percent,” but the best keep climbing—not for ego, but to honor God with every ounce of potential He has given. Colossians 3:23-24 exhorts us: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord. . . . It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
When you embrace your uniqueness, follow God wholeheartedly, lead yourself intentionally, and stay focused on serving Him, you become the kind of leader people notice—not because you chase attention, but because you live your calling with clarity and consistency.
Action Step: Write down three traits from your childhood that still shape you today. Reflect on how they reveal your uniqueness as a leader. Then choose one distraction you can delegate, automate, or eliminate this week to sharpen your focus.
