What the Bible Says About Advent - 29 Days of Advent Meditationsনমুনা

Day 20: Joy in Worship
- Verses:
- Psalm 100:1–2: "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness."
- Psalm 95:1–2: "Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord... come before him with thanksgiving."
- Zephaniah 3:17: "He will take great delight in you... he will rejoice over you with singing."
- Hebrews 12:28: "Let us be thankful and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe."
- Revelation 19:7: "Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory!"
- Reflection:
Worship is a joyful response to God’s greatness, drawing us into His presence. Psalm 100:1–2 calls us to worship with gladness, while Zephaniah 3:17 reveals God’s delight in us, singing over His people. Hebrews 12:28 urges thankful worship, and Revelation 19:7 celebrates giving God glory. Advent invites us to express joy through worship, lifting our hearts in gratitude and awe. This act not only honors God but also fills us with joy, connecting us to His eternal love and majesty.
- Application:
- Reflect on how worship brings you joy.
- Today, dedicate time to worship God through song or prayer, using Psalm 95:1–2. Journal about how worship lifts your spirit.
- Share this joy by inviting someone to worship with you, perhaps at church or in a prayer group.
- Take one action, like writing a psalm of praise, to express gratitude, letting your worship reflect God’s glory to others and deepen your connection to Him.
- Prayer:
Lord, let my worship be filled with joy as I praise Your holy name. In Jesus' name. Amen.
About this Plan

These 29 daily devotionals, created by Dr. Walt Larimore, are structured around the four traditional pre-Christmas Advent candles—Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love and one final devotion for the penultimate Christ candle. Each of the first four weeks focuses on one candle, with seven daily devotions exploring a specific aspect of that theme through Bible verses, a reflection, and a prayer prompt—then, of course, the final Christmas Eve or Christmas Day devotion. All Bible verses are quoted from the NIV, 2011.
