OPPORTUNITIES
To be honest, God really speaks to my heart through motherhood. The other day, while doing a devotional, all I could do was thank Him. Thank Him for all the chances He gives me to show and practice love, grace, patience, and mercy with my kids. Even though it's not easy to always act that way, I know the Lord offers me this path every day. Would it be easier to handle things based on anger, rage, or resentment? Maybe, but we know the results would be terrible.

Love doesn't mean we shouldn’t be firm when necessary. But our actions should always be based in love, even if it's the harder road. It'll always demand more from us, since our sinful nature wants to take over. Our kids mess up too, often not on purpose, but acting out of love will leave marks on their hearts like the ones Jesus left on us—He loved us even when we were still sinners! What an amazing truth! So, thank God for the chances He gives you, through motherhood, to practice love, grace, patience, and mercy. He wants to teach your kids who He is, through you!

In conclusion, I’m really happy to have had you on this five-day journey. I hope these words have brought some comfort to your heart as you better understand God's purposes for motherhood. Being a mom is a huge opportunity God gives us to be shaped and perfected by Him, not just in motherhood itself, but for all the other purposes He's given us. What's more, being a mom is an excellent chance to make Jesus Christ come alive in our children's hearts. We do this by planting the seed of God's Word and being an example of it every day, whether through our words or our actions. God wants us to be intentional in this calling—to dedicate ourselves to teaching, disciplining, and serving our kids, and nourishing them not just physically, but spiritually too. With this mindset, our motherhood will definitely feel lighter and bring glory to the Lord wherever we go.
