Words of Comfort, Hope and Joyনমুনা

This psalm describes how the Lord intervened in people's lives to save them from their troubles. Some were in prison; some were lost in the wilderness without a home to stay in; some were sailors lost at sea, and so on. But although their experiences varied, their knowledge of God was the same. Despite their failures, the Lord was kind to all of them.
The Psalmist thus conveys an essential truth about the Lord from all these circumstances. The Lord always fulfils those in need; he never ignores those in difficulty.
The Bible tells us that the Lord guided the runaway slaves through the desert as a pillar of fire at night and a cloud during the day. He fought their battles. He provided for their journey. He led Peter out of the jail and appeared to encourage Paul on a ship heading for a wreck. He walked over the water and calmed the storm.
There were storms, dry, arid seasons, and life-threatening situations, but the Lord satisfied the longing souls in all those circumstances. Faith in God is the confidence that the Lord will never let his children down. This confidence is our reason for praise.
No matter the storms or challenges you face today, place your confidence in God’s unfailing presence and provision. Remember how he has delivered and sustained his people throughout history, and trust that he will do the same for you.
