When Trust Becomes Testimonyনমুনা

When Trust Becomes Surrender
“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” (Luke 22:42, NIV)
Think of how God has been with you in hard seasons. What did those seasons teach you? How did He show up? Were you afraid to give something up if He was asking you to?
Often, trust begins as belief: I know God is faithful. I know He is good. But that trust is tested in the places we hold most tightly. The diagnosis. The relationship. The career we worked hard for.
This is where trust becomes surrender. It isn’t simply glancing at God’s character but holding the whole of our life to Him. It’s letting go of our need to understand how every piece will fit together. We don’t just trust Him with our words; we live faith out when the rubber hits the road.
Trust is not passive; it is active, a constant releasing of control.
It’s hard to hand over our heartbreaks and wounds, but God invites us to be even more honest, and to give Him control.
Surrender is where truer trust takes root. Ready your heart for releasing what weighs it down.
The truth for today is: Trust says we are handing God everything. Our lives are well cared for.
Prayer:
Jesus, You gave an example of surrendering Your will to the will of Your Father. Help me to be more honest with You and surrender what I cling to. I want to trust You more deeply. Amen.
Reflection Question:
What’s one thing you’re holding tightly that God is asking you to place in His hands?
