Say So: Declaring God's Word Over Your Life

DAY 25 OF 30

Just because you had a thought doesn't make you that thought.

I used to think something was wrong with me because I had a thought that was contrary to God's word and my values. I would be filled with guilt and shame every time this happened.

Over time, I have come to realize that just because a thought pops into my head doesn't make it mine. It only becomes mine and takes root in my life when I internalize it and begin to act on it.

So, what do I do instead when I have a thought that’s contrary to my knowledge of God and His will for me to be holy? I arrest the thought immediately by saying, "That thought does not serve me.”

I go on to remind myself who I am and whose I am with statements like, " I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am established in righteousness. I am rooted and grounded in love."

Don't allow thoughts and the guilt and shame that come with them to hold you captive anymore. You are an overcomer.

Say So:

I am an overcomer. The weapons of my warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. I cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against my knowledge of God. I bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ in me, the hope of glory.
