Hearing From God's Wordনমুনা

A Mirror for the Soul
Scripture is like a mirror—it shows us who we really are. But here’s the danger: James 1:23–24 warns us that if we only hear the Word without doing it, we’re like someone who looks in a mirror and then immediately forgets what they saw.
Imagine a doctor showing you a scan that reveals a life-threatening illness. Instead of thanking the doctor, you rip up the results and storm out. That’s what the people in Nazareth did with Jesus, and it’s what we do when we ignore God’s convicting Word. But remember—God doesn’t expose our sin to shame us. He exposes it to heal us and save us.
Don’t treat the Bible like a casual glance in the mirror. When it reveals sin, pride, or brokenness, take action. Repent, obey, and let God’s Spirit transform you.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that Your Word is alive and searching. When I see my sin in its mirror, give me the courage not to turn away but to turn to You. Change me by Your truth and make me more like Jesus.

About this Plan

Every Sunday for thousands of years, God’s people have gathered to sing His praise, to pray together, and—at the very center—to hear His Word read and proclaimed. This is not a modern church invention—it’s the way God has always met with His people. The Word is not an accessory to worship—it’s the anchor of worship.
