Embracing Your True Self: Living in Your Christ-Centered Identity With Jennifer Slatteryনমুনা

You are seen.
Jeff didn’t grow up in an abusive or frightening home. He always had plenty to eat, a comfortable bed in which to sleep, and freedom to explore his gifts and passions. But he often felt invisible to his workaholic and emotionally detached father. This created a wound that lasted into adulthood and left him feeling like he needed to perform.
If only he earned that promotion, purchased that car, or secured that relationship, then he’d hold value. He thought ambition drove him, not realizing his compulsive need to achieve came from his inner child, crying out to be seen.
Can you relate? According to Dr. Curt Thompson, we all come into this world looking for someone looking for us. This need never goes away. Praise God, we always capture His affectionate gaze. Scripture tells us that He guides us with His loving eye upon us, and His vision reaches to the depths of our souls. He sees the real us, the most anxious, wounded and vulnerable parts of us, and calls us His own. His beloved children who cause Him to break out in song.
Journal Prompt:
When do you most feel the need to know you are seen? How does it feel to know that God sees every pain you endure, bout of anxiety you experience, and challenge you face? How might reflecting on this truth bring comfort and increased resiliency to your soul during difficult seasons?
About this Plan

You’re not insufficient, overlooked, unimportant or unseen. In Christ, you are loved, chosen, called, redeemed, empowered and held close by the One who crafted your every cell, knows your every flaw, sees your potential. Unfortunately, wounds from our past can challenge our ability to view ourselves as the Lord’s beloved. May this 30-day plan remind you of who you are to Christ and in Christ, helping you live with increased confidence and joy.
