Embracing Your True Self: Living in Your Christ-Centered Identity With Jennifer Slatteryনমুনা

You are enough in Christ.
If you were raised in a dysfunctional home, you may have come to believe you weren’t enough. Not clever, talented, cheerful, or quiet enough. Or perhaps your faulty messaging came from harsh teachers who treated your academic challenges with contempt rather than grace. Maybe you were the kid others ridiculed or bullied, or the adult abandoned by your spouse.
These types of experiences can leave us feeling insufficient and defective. I’ve battled these lies for much of my life and a big part of my healing and spiritual growth journey has involved recognizing my competence comes from God; He empowers, trains, and sustains me as I seek to live in a way that honors Him.
According to Scripture, you are enough because Christ in you is more than enough. Your sufficiency comes from Him, the One who knows you fully, loves you deeply, and deemed you worthy of His life. He makes you complete (Colossians 2:10) and, through the Holy Spirit residing within you, gives you everything you need to thrive. May He teach us to walk with the confidence befitting a chosen, redeemed and called child of our resurrected King as we learn to give His voice, not that of our naysayers or inner critics, the authority it deserves.
Journal prompts:
How has the criticism of others impacted how you view yourself? When are you most apt to ruminate on self-defeating messages? What are some ways you can let God’s voice, and truth, speak louder than your insecurities or the hurtful words of others? Prayerfully ask the Lord to make you aware when you’re engaged in negative self-talk and to help you focus instead on truth.
About this Plan

You’re not insufficient, overlooked, unimportant or unseen. In Christ, you are loved, chosen, called, redeemed, empowered and held close by the One who crafted your every cell, knows your every flaw, sees your potential. Unfortunately, wounds from our past can challenge our ability to view ourselves as the Lord’s beloved. May this 30-day plan remind you of who you are to Christ and in Christ, helping you live with increased confidence and joy.
