The Amplified Version expounds upon the words, dress and keep in the following manner: “And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it.” Genesis 2:15 AMPC
Tend to the Garden. God created man to tend to his home. God created man to tend to his business. God formed man with the skills to tend to and develop his garden. In fact God gave man the authority to guard the garden. Man was created to guard the assignment. In fact, God knew that Satan wanted the Garden, but He set man to guard it. Satan, the snake, may have had access to the Garden—but he did not have ownership. God sent a prepared man to guard, keep and protect the Garden. God breathed the “breath of life” into man before the Garden was ever formed. God prepared and equipped man to tend to the Garden before the Garden existed. Your platform may not exist, but yet God formed you, fashioned you, and breathed purpose in you to protect the platform. In fact, many idolize the platform, the business, the position or the Garden when in fact, the Garden of Eden was simply a tool to showcase what was inside of Adam. The Garden was the starting point. The Garden was only the beginning. Don’t idolize the title. Don’t pursue the position. Don’t worship the promise. Submit to God. Choose to surrender to God. Because His formation, preparation and placement prepares you for dominion beyond the Garden. When you read beyond the passage where God formed man in Genesis 2:8 KJV you’ll soon find out what lies beyond the Garden Genesis 2:9-14 KJV. Temptation was in the Garden, but God had prepared man to conquer temptation. Don’t succumb to the temptation of the Garden— more is waiting. In fact, the Garden was fruitful, but God had more in store for mankind beyond the borders of the Garden.
