In the Mirror of Life: 31 Days of Identity, Purpose, and Gratitudeনমুনা

BEING STILL BEFORE GOD
Key Verse:
“He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’” — Psalm 46:10 (NIV).
Reflection:
We live in an age of hurry, noise, and overload. Many women believe they must do more and more in order to be accepted. Yet, in In Search of Myself, we learn that silence is also a form of healing. In In the Mirror of Life, we understand that stopping before God creates space to hear the voice that defines us.
In psychology, practicing mindfulness helps reduce anxiety and regulate emotions. In psychoanalysis, silence reveals what had long been hidden. From a systemic perspective, stillness connects us to the flow of life, reminding us that we do not need to carry destinies that were never ours to bear. The Bible calls us to an active rest: to trust that He is God and that His presence sustains us.
Additional Verses:
- “This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: ‘In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.’” — Isaiah 30:15 (NIV).
- “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” — John 14:27 (NIV).
Systemic Reflection Phrase:
“When I choose to be still, I return to God’s shoulders what I was never meant to carry.”
Practical Challenge:
Set aside 10 minutes today to be still before God. Breathe deeply, surrender your worries to Him, and simply repeat in your heart: “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” - Psalm 56:3 (NIV).
Therapeutic Technique:
Practice the mindful breathing exercise: focus only on the air entering and leaving your lungs. If thoughts arise, simply observe them and return your attention to the breath, surrendering them to the Lord.
Prayer:
Father, teach me to rest in Your presence. May my heart find peace in the silence before You. Help me quiet my mind and trust in Your constant care. May I live lightly, knowing that You are God over all things. Amen.
