HomeFirst: Finding Balance, Embracing Ease, and Living a Christ-Centered Lifeনমুনা

Day 1: Who Am I?
Every lasting home is built on a firm foundation. Scripture reminds us that we are not only called to build physical homes but also to see ourselves as“living stones, being built into a spiritual house and a holy priesthood” (1 Peter 2:5). God’s blueprint for our lives begins not with what we do, but with who we are in him.
Yet many of us wrestle with this truth. We often define ourselves by what we do—our professions, our roles, even our titles. Without realizing it, we place our identity in doing rather than being. But in Christ, our true identity is unshakable: heirs according to the promise, chosen daughters of God, a royal priesthood, and carriers of His light on earth (Galatians 3:29; 1 Peter 2:9).
Professions, acts of service, and responsibilities are noble and necessary, but they are not the truest description of who we are. What sustains us and empowers us is not the role we play, but the image we bear, the Kingdom we carry, and the Christ to whom we are joined.
When we neglect the question“Who am I in Christ?” we risk constructing our lives on the world’s blueprint, one driven by success, busyness, and appearances. But God’s design reaches deeper. It anchors us in His presence, shapes our rhythms, and aligns us with His eternal mission. He created us to be spiritual houses filled with His Spirit, reflecting His Kingdom wherever we go.
Society and culture often pressure us to prioritize doing over being, but HomeFirstis an invitation back to the feet of Jesus. Here, we are positioned to receive his love, grace, and mercy and to be filled with identity.
When Christ becomes our foundation, everything else begins to align. Our homes grow stronger, our rhythms flow with grace, and our lives bear eternal fruit. Just as a wise builder lays each brick with intention, so we must lay every choice, habit, and rhythm on the eternal foundation of God’s Word. Balance does not begin with schedules or systems—it begins with surrender.
Reflection Questions:
1. Where have I allowed my role or profession to define me more than my identity in Christ?
2. How can I begin to see myself as a “living stone” in God’s spiritual house?
3. What would change in my home and rhythms if my foundation were fully Christ?
Prayer:
Lord, help me to see myself not through the lens of what I do alone, but through the truth of who I am in you. May my life and my home be built on the eternal foundation of Christ, reflecting your Kingdom in all I do. Thank you for calling me chosen, royal, and beloved. Teach me to build my life on your foundation so that every part of me reflects your Kingdom. Amen
