Facing Fear—Finding Freedomনমুনা

Day 2: Watch the Current (Drift)
At the beach, we teach our kids a simple truth: the current is always moving—even when you don’t feel it. If they drift too far, we remind them, “I haven’t moved. You have. Look back and find me.”
That image has become a powerful spiritual metaphor in our home. Hebrews 2:1 warns us: “We must pay the most careful attention… so that we do not drift away.”
The drift rarely feels dangerous. It’s subtle. Silent. Almost soothing. But if we don’t regularly stop and look back—anchoring ourselves to the Father through time in His Word and quiet with His presence—we’ll find ourselves carried far from where we started. And worse, far from where we’re meant to be.
Truth doesn’t move. God doesn’t change. But the cultural current constantly tries to reshape truth—bending it, dulling it, deforming it until it becomes something else entirely.
That’s why staying anchored in the truth isn’t a one-time decision—it’s a daily discipline. Freedom in Christ isn’t floating aimlessly. It’s swimming with intention, keeping your eyes fixed on the One who never moves.
If you feel far from God, He hasn’t moved. Look up. Come back.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for being steady when everything around me shifts. Teach me to pause, to look to You, and to recognize when the current is pulling me away. Anchor me again in Your truth. Amen
