7 Ways to Grow Your Marriage: Husband Editionনমুনা

Day 4: Remember what God has done in your marriage.
I’ve spent a lot of time in the Old Testament this year. The one thing that frustrates me over and over again is how quickly the Israelites would forget how faithful God is and has been! It frustrates me because it magnifies that same tendency in my own life. In the busy lives we lead, it’s easy to forget to slow down and reflect. But when we don’t reflect, we miss out on recognizing things like growth and other opportunities for celebration.
Just like God commanded Joshua to take stones and stack them at the edge of the Jordan to remember how He had faithfully seen them through, we need to take time to remember His faithfulness to grow our marriage. I don’t expect you to put stones in your house, but maybe you can write it down in a journal as a place to come back and reflect. David says he “considers all (God’s) works and meditates on all (His) mighty deeds” in Psalms 77:11. There is power in remembering. So take time to slow down and ask God to show you how your marriage has grown recently. Take time to remember what God has done in your marriage. And don’t forget to thank Him for it!
Today’s One Thing Challenge: Spend 5 minutes today, prayerfully thinking about how God has grown your marriage in the last few months. Then tell your wife about the growth you've seen and celebrate together!
