“Are you sure this is your way?”

Do you feel like you're not making progress in your life right now? Even though you're putting all your energy into it?

The other day, I was at the Basel Zoo and went to the restroom, where there were many empty stalls. After I chose one, a woman came in and tried to open the door to my stall. Despite having many other options, she kept trying to open my door—unsuccessfully, of course. And I honestly wondered, "Why don’t you just use another empty stall?" 🤔

Very quickly, I heard God whispering to me: “Déborah, this is exactly what many of My children do. They see someone succeeding on a particular path and believe they must do the same thing exactly. Instead of looking around and seeing that there’s so much space for them—space for something new, space for their OWN path—they try to force the door open, putting all their strength and energy into it. But I have a place and a purpose for every single person in this world.”

I’ll say the next sentence with a smile, but it will illustrate what God wants to say to you today:

The photocopier was definitely not God’s idea, because He only makes originals!

And you are an original!

Where are you trying to force open a door that might not be your way? Where do you need to decide to let go of that path and allow God to guide you to the right place?

Because today, He is encouraging you with these words: “See, I am doing a new thing!” (Isaiah 43:19, NIV)

You are a miracle!
