Happy to Workনমুনা

“…and God sees you!”
I will never, ever forget this image. I was a student at a large Bible school that organized a big conference at a stadium once a year. Of course, the students worked hard for this event—and honestly, we complained and complained about it in the evenings:
“They’re just using us. They don’t even have to pay us. We’re working around the clock and don’t even get to experience any of the conference.” Yes, yes, yes… us humans. And when others start complaining too, it never ends. 🙄
Until one of those days when, with a heavy vacuum on my back, I accidentally took the elevator to the wrong floor—the VIP floor—and found the lead singer(!)🎤 who was famous worldwide, in exactly the same position as me: with a heavy vacuum on her back!
Let me share Ephesians 6 with you in this context: “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.” (Ephesians 6:7-8 NIV)
When she stood there in that moment with the vacuum in front of me, I was speechless. I stopped complaining and started to understand: We can only win if we serve with joy! 😊
The proof of this came at the next conference. This time, I had to serve on my birthday. I stood at the entrance, and my task was to greet the thousands of women arriving, for hours on end.
I had decided to serve God with joy.
I will never forget this either. Suddenly, one of these women, whom I didn’t know at all, handed me a gift and said, “God told me in prayer that a woman would be standing here today who has a birthday. He wanted you to know that He sees you.”
Whew, I could still cry today thinking about that moment! God sees your service! He sees what you do!
Therefore: “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.” (Ephesians 6:7-8 NIV)
You are a miracle!
