Journeying to Easter - Part 2নমুনা

Where are you sitting?
It’s often said the condition of our lives reflects our five closest friends: how they behave shapes how we behave, how they think informs how we think.
It goes both ways, but the influence isn’t always even.
During Biblical Studies when I was in year 7 on the cusp of adolescence, my teacher told the class about the choices we’d make in high school, the social pressures that may come our way and what friends we’d choose to hang around with.
She used Psalm 1 to point out the progression of how the company we keep can affect us: first, we walk with the wicked, then we stand with them and then, before you know it, we’ve stopped walking altogether to take a seat with them.
The passage isn’t a call to be exclusive in who we talk to or exclude people who don’t share our same faith views, but it is a reminder of how getting off track begins: it starts with who we truly walk alongside and where we stop with them.
Meditating on scripture helps us see if and when our steps are starting to deviate from God’s intention.
This season, invite God’s Word to be your guide.

About this Plan

“In these next days and weeks leading up to Easter, we’ll explore different scriptures. Each verse a thread in the tapestry of God’s great big redemption story – all culminating in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In this Easter season, let’s slow down and create a regular rhythm of remembrance together.” (Lent – Lucy Weil)
