One of the biggest themes in the book of John is abiding in Jesus. In John 15:4-5, Jesus says, “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.”

John’s account doesn’t just introduce us to Jesus—it invites us to stay with Him. To remain in His love, His truth, and His presence. Faith isn’t a one-time moment; it’s an ongoing relationship with the Savior.

We’ve seen throughout John that Jesus is the Light, the Bread of Life, the Good Shepherd, the Resurrection, and the Way to the Father. Everything in this Gospel points to one truth: Jesus is life. And life with Him is better, richer, and fuller than anything the world can offer.

John 20:31 tells us the whole reason this story was written: “These are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in Him you will have life by the power of His name.”
