The Rebuild: Matthew 5-7নমুনা

Fasting is a way to approach God with full force, boldness, humility and persistence. It is to eagerly chase God with all we have, sacrificing our earthly sustenance and to wait on Him expectantly. There are big promises in Isaiah 58:14 where fasting the right way gives joy, triumph and an inheritance!
However, so often we use spiritual practices like fasting for ourselves instead of God. We selfishly chase the praise of others and justify it as holiness.
Jesus rebuked and taught the crowd regarding this. More than that, He fulfilled it through His life, death and resurrection. Jesus chased God with all He had, gave up His life and rose again, giving us joy, triumph and an inheritance in heaven!
Today, ponder this: Have you ever approached God with the intention of pleasing others? Could it be through serving, praying or boasting? Resting in Jesus’ fulfilment, let’s consider our motives today. Pray for the Spirit’s help so we can grow in eagerness to chase after God.

About this Plan

“You have heard it said…” In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus begins to rebuild and reform our understanding of life in His Kingdom. In Matthew 5-7, He challenges the religious traditions of His day and the competing worldviews of our own. His words are a call to transformation—a new way to live under His reign. As Jesus lays the foundation for His Kingdom, we are invited to tear down false beliefs and build our lives on His truth.
