Holy Spirit Breath...
Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.”
Ezekiel 37:5
When we’re desperate for something new, when the walls seem to be closing in, and every door appears to be closed, the story regarding the dry bones of Israel can sure bring some welcome relief.
Maybe we’ve been in a long season of waiting for the Lord Jesus to do something new in our lives, and our hope may be dimming. It’s from this place where we might have to seriously examine ourselves to see if we have opened doors that may have led us into our current predicament.
However, when that is done—and if we’ve needed to come clean about some stuff—what matters next is a deep renewal of the Holy Spirit in and through us. We need God’s breath upon our personal dry bones.
Indeed, both the Hebrew (Ruach, Old Testament) and Greek (Pneuma, New Testament), where we translate Spirit in our English Bibles, literally means a breath, to breathe, a breeze, or wind. The Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Godhead—co-equal, co-existent, co-eternal, and co-divine—with the Father and the Son, is the very breath of God (John 3:3-6).
When we received Jesus into our lives by faith, it was the Spirit’s life breath that revived our once-dead spirit—think of it as spiritual CPR. But there is more. We must experience Pentecost, that miraculous release of the Spirit within us, as we read about all through the Book of Acts.
Got some dry bone areas in your life that could use a fresh new breath from the Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead? (Ephesians 1:19-20) Simply ask. The promise of His presence is yours (Luke 11:9-13). We can have Pentecost every day. A new beginning, a continuous overflow of His gifts and power when we need them the most.
About this Plan

Throughout Scripture, we discover the Unchanging One loves to change things up. Maybe Jesus is gently nudging us that it's time for us to have a new beginning, a fresh start, or that He wants to open a door of possibility. Let's open His Word and invite the adventure to begin!
