The Gospel of Markনমুনা

Starting off this week's study, let's consider the context of Mark 3. John Mark, sets a scene of Jesus meeting a man with a deformity on sabbath. We all know that you are not allowed to work on the Sabbath, however, it also goes against “the tradition of the elders” to even do healings on the Sabbath. Jesus is aware of this of course. He addresses the Pharisees and says “Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?” (vs. 4). Jesus is continuing to encourage a tension of wrestling with the heart behind the law. Begin to journal your thoughts on how the heart posture of the onlookers comes into play here.
