In this verse, the term “those people” refers to people who choose to ignore the truth about who Jesus is while claiming to be spiritual leaders and worthy of our trust. In other words, there are those people who attempt to deceive Jesus’ followers by tempting them away from God’s best plans for life. But thank God that He gives us an awareness of people who do this through the Holy Spirit who is wiser, greater, and more trustworthy than the people who try to deceive us.

We can celebrate the fact that we can see the difference between what is true and what is not, and we can pray for others to see it too.
