Romans Part 6: RESPONSEনমুনা

Time is Short
Paul continues to exhort us with an end-times perspective. A believer must live out his days knowing that his time is short; yet, there’s still much to be done to advance Christ’s kingdom. So, there is little time left to fritter away pursuing idle fancies and pleasures.
Hebrew 12 points to Christ as our Champion; the passage outlines how we are to live today, under the sure hope of heaven: ”... let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
The things we do right now count forever. In other words, let your longing for the day of His appearing motivate you to live each day serving Him with all your might. And remember, He closes the last book of the Bible with the phrase “Behold, I am coming soon!”
