Reflect
How is God described in verses 1–4? Light (verse 2) is a symbol of God’s glory. Why does the psalm writer employ this image? How does God provide for all living creatures? Do human beings have roles and responsibilities? Explain. Try reading this psalm alongside Genesis 1. How does it compare?
Pray
Sovereign God, you are clothed with majesty and glory. The earth is filled with your creatures. All creation receives breath from you and you give new life to the earth. Praise the LORD, my soul! May your glory last forever! Amen.
