Real Hope: Redeeming Homeনমুনা

The Church As Home
Can the church be our home too?
Home. What is it? Where is it? Is it a place of safety and joy, or is it one of torment and bitterness? Fullness and love or bitterness and anger? Miss it or glad you never have to go back?
This topic resonates with me. There are times in my life where I have been at churches where they have been wonderful; great teaching, strong fellowship, close friendship, communion, understanding, welcoming, joy, delight for all. Greater than home.
There have also been times at churches where I’ve felt unwelcome, unknown, a stranger, never past the visitor stage. It seemed that people only spoke with those they knew.
Church as home is not straightforward for many. So here is the challenge: look out for the new person, speak with them, welcome them so that they belong, they can become comfortable. Jesus is using us all. He is our foundation. Church can be a place of security, a home for all who come. Take a step and welcome everyone into your church so it becomes a home for them too.
