Year of the Bible: Part Eleven of Twelveনমুনা

New Priesthood, New Rules
For nearly 1,000 years, Israel lived under the law of Moses, which made nothing perfect. The writer of Hebrews shares a fascinating insight into the day's culture: "when there is a change in the priesthood, there is meant to be a change in the Law, too."
The account in Genesis 14 points straight at Jesus, our eternal priest who lived an indestructible life, opening the doorway for eternal, lasting hope!
Now, if you are in Christ, you live in Christ, in freedom, and hidden with Christ in God. Your life is now eternally secure and also indestructible. Perfection is yours, and your life belongs to Jesus forever!
Christ's work is finished, and now, by the Grace of Christ, you are becoming more like Jesus every day. The new priest is here, and with Him, the new law—the law of life.
Question: When you measure and examine yourself, do you compare yourself to the Old Testament Law or the life of Jesus?
Prayer: Jesus, take me deeper and grow my understanding of salvation and the daily process of becoming more like Jesus. I want to reflect Your character to everyone I meet; please grant me the peace of mind to take my eyes off my performance and place them directly on You, King Jesus. In Your name, I pray, Amen!
