How Jesus Made Disciplesনমুনা

DAY 6: Jesus knew disciples were not made at microwave speed.
A restaurant I once frequented had a sign that said, “Baja Fresh food cannot be made at microwave speed.” They wanted customers to realize that it takes time to make the quality of food they produce.
Many approaches to discipleship assume that change happens rapidly. Yet life transformation seldom results from one lesson and an application question.
For example, let’s say we have a nine-week study on the fruit of the Spirit, spending one week on each aspect. If we are really going to become, say, more joyful, we will need to do several different types of activities and focus intensively on allowing the Spirit to produce joy in us over a longer course of time.
Jesus knew that developing disciples was time- and labor-intensive. He spent three years teaching and training His disciples intensively. He taught concepts to His disciples multiple times in a variety of ways in order for each one to truly be transformational.
