John 15:2
When we follow God's plan, He doesn't just add things; sometimes, He will take things away.
When God makes a subtraction from our lives, it is only to benefit us and never harm us.
As Jeremiah 29:11 says,
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
This doesn't mean to say that it is comfortable or easy when God allows something or even someone to be taken from our lives.
This is when we have to trust the nature and the motives of the Father.
God is good! All the time!
Even when it doesn't feel that way, it remains true.
When God prunes, it's not so we will be less or depleted, but so that we will be even more fruitful.
Prayer
Father, help me always to remember You are good and only have good plans for my life.
Help me to trust You when my experience appears contrary to this truth.
I thank You that You love me always and that all things work together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. (Romans 8:28)
