Finding Freedom in Jesusনমুনা

Freedom from the law
God’s laws are “holy and righteous and good” (Romans 7:12). However, since we humans naturally are not holy and righteous and good, we can’t keep God’s laws perfectly. So, if we try to earn salvation by keeping the laws, we will fail miserably. Even a tiny little failure or sin will spoil it all. The law will accuse and condemn us. Therefore, “by works of the law no human being will be justified in his [God’s] sight” (Romans 3:20). We need another way of salvation.
Jesus Christ has come to redeem us. He has kept the law perfectly in our place. If we just believe in Him, we share in His perfection, and the law no longer condemns us. Jesus has freed us from its righteous but unreachable requirements.
In Paul’s day, some people who had come to faith, fell back into their old system of salvation by works. They had received freedom in Christ, but now made themselves slaves to the law again. Paul strongly warns them that if they choose to make salvation dependent on their own efforts, “Christ will be of no advantage to you”. Then all hope is lost!
Do you stand firm in the freedom Christ has offered you?

About this Plan

Jesus says: “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31-32). That sounds good, since freedom is something we are all looking for! This reading plan introduces twelve types of freedom that can all be found in Jesus.
