I know... it's not fair that on day one of the study, we are starting with Lust of the Eyes, but that is where we need to start. I grew up with Playboy and other adult magazines behind the drugstore counter. The stores kept them there so every man could see just enough and want to see more. These were right by the cigarettes and other commonly purchased items, so they knew just where to place them to sell them. * The adult movie channel became available on cable tv in the 80s. It was a premium channel that aired from 8 pm - 6 am every day. * The first porn site was Sex.com in 1994. * In 2015, Porn was an estimated $97 billion industry, with about $12 billion of that coming from the U.S. As you can see, accessibility has to lead to an out of control porn addiction in our world. Porn = Sex Trafficking Most people think they are not hurting anyone looking at Porn. But there is a direct tie to sex trafficking from Porn. There are women, men, and children being forced into sex that you and I are watching. Porn is destroying your marriage and other relationships. You may think this is just for your self-gratification, but it impacts how you view relationships. Your spouse has probably noticed a change in your behavior. They may have seen your attentiveness change, your desire to experiment twist, and your stance on morals shift. Porn is impacting children. The average of first exposure to Porn is from 8-11 years old with some even earlier. Life is hard enough without confusing children about what intimacy "looks" like. Let's look at the full verse of Matthew 5:27-29, "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' 28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away.
