## April 4—God of the Trial, Part 2 ### Read Isaiah 43:1-7 ### Reflect In verse 5 God commands us not to fear. This command is repeated at least 365 times in Holy Scripture—that’s one time for each day of the year. Think about it! It is because God is with us that we can have the courage not to fear. This is not a promise for a select few, those spiritual heroes of the faith, but for everyone who is called by his name. This kind of courage in God can become very contagious to those around us. We need more of that kind of contagion! ### Engage Reread the Scripture passage. You’ve now read it two days in a row. Does anything stand out to you differently than it did yesterday? Consider the ENGAGE questions again. Don’t be afraid of the repetition. We learn more about God each time we read and reread his Word. · What does it say about God? · What does it say about us? · Is there a promise to trust? · Is there a command to obey? · How will I apply this Scripture to my life? · Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth? ### Memorize Now read this week’s memory verse, 1 Peter 4:11.
