Getting To Know The Real Youনমুনা

Getting To Know The Real You

DAY 1 OF 9

“Is this really how the world was meant to be?” I’ve had that thought before. I’m sure you have, too. Considering the brokenness around us, it’s a logical question. Did God get it wrong? Is this what He saw when we He said, “And it was good”? It’s OK to ask God hard questions. He is the best person to turn to with our doubts, questions, or fears. In Genesis 1, we see God’s design for creation. Animals were made according to their kind. Fish were made with gills and birds were made with wings, but mankind was made to be like God. That’s what it means to bear His image (Genesis 1:27). God made us in His image to live and rule with Him. We were without flaw or sin, and the world was perfect. So what happened? In Genesis 3, sin enters the world. Sin is a rebelliousness we’re all born with. It separates people from God and breaks the perfect world He created. That’s why Jesus came. To set things right, once and for all. When we ask Jesus into our lives, we are set free from sin and restored to our place as God’s kids. “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John‬ ‭1:12,‬ ‭ESV‬‬). From the beginning, God loved us and desired a relationship with us. He is a good Father, who gives us His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to remind us who we are. We are loved. We are blessed. And we’ve been called into the family business. This world and its brokenness are fading away. A new one is coming where we will rule and reign alongside our Father and Creator, just like Adam and Eve did in Eden (2 Peter 3:13, Revelation 21:1). But until then, we get to be God’s representatives on earth, doing good to all and pointing to the world to come. Reflect: * When you look in the mirror, what do you see? * How does it feel to know that you carry God’s likeness?
